Who We Are
Shaare Torah is a vibrant, open-hearted, joyful, and multi-generational synagogue community where you are welcome as you are. We learn, pray, play, pursue justice, and find inspiration as we grow Jewishly together.
We are a thriving congregation of more than 300 households, affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism in the Lakelands/Kentlands neighborhoods. We are home to a full-time Early Childhood Center with 74 students and a supplementary religious school with 95 elementary and middle school-aged students. We have an active adult education scene as well as many social activities. Our community is proud to celebrate and engage our families during lifecycle moments and help our congregants form connections with one another. We provide religious education and programming for learners of all ages.
Our Mission
At Shaare Torah, we strive to be a Jewish community of belonging, where we care for one another, our neighbors, Israel, and our world. Rooted in tradition, we create Jewish experiences that spark wonder, stretch spirits and deepen relationships.
